Fall 2023

Travel season in New England peaks in the beautiful autumn months of September and October, when the fall foliage is in full transition. Our Fall issue brings you a family retreat in Pennsylvania. Thank you to Luann and Robert for a day filled with great conversation, food and laughter. As we drove up their winding driveway on a brisk Fall day, we knew we were in a special place. What a treat to find so many buildings, as they are my one weakness!

Issue No. 7
Summer 2023

Our Summer issue includes a young man’s journey to find the perfect historic house. “The house had to be special” for Mike, and after searching upstate New York and not finding this special antique home, he expanded his search to Connecticut. He has spent the last seven years renovating the home yet maintaining the historic integrity of the Stephen Smith house. Meeting these stewards of historic homes is one of the best parts of my job.

Issue No. 6
Spring 2023

We are excited about our spring issue which features a Georgian 18th-century north shore home. It truly was a labor of love for this couple who have spent their time bringing their home to its high style. One of my favorite aspects of photographing homes is then sitting down and talking with the homeowners. We are fortunate to get to tell the stories and history of these homes – one issue at a time.

Spring 2024

Sometimes it’s all in a name.

Hello everyone and Happy Spring!   The best way to describe Spring in New England is we all come out of hibernation.  It is a time for rebirth, refresh and reset.  Historic Homes Magazine’s Spring visit to Long Island last spring was to visit the Old House situated in Cutchoque.  A perfect name for someone whose passion is old houses.   Long Island has had a long recorded history from the first European settlements in the 17th century to today.  The Old House has many attributes, “it is notably as one of the most distinguished surviving examples of English domestic architecture in America.”  It was truly a memorable day hosted by Mark Macnish, the executive director of the Old House.  Thank you Mark for your knowledge and expertise, along with gathering fresh lilacs and flowers from the property.

We hope you enjoy our Spring issue featuring “The Old House”.

Issue No.3
Fall 2022

Fall is finally here, that time of the year for bittersweet, pumpkins and gourds. As many of you probably know, I love autumn. The rich colors, crisp cool air, and woolen sweaters make this season special for me. This Fall issue is exciting for me as it is our premiere issue for the season.
